On the 7th of December 2022 UHAT joined Makoni District in Manicaland Province to celebrate the 16Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence.
The participants delivered thought provoking messages to advocate for protection of children especially the girl child, empowerment and justice. The messages were conveyed through poems, drama, drum majorities dance, songs about early marriage. Sexual violence and harmful traditional practices affects their future plans.UHAT distributed 50 sanitary kits to vulnerable learners. UHAT stands with leaders and partners in Zimbabwe and around the world in calling for an immediate end to GBV. Engaging traditional and religious leaders is one of the best strategy to uproot harmful practices affecting women, boys and girls in the communities.
